Ventana implements the following throughout the HSE program:

  • People-first philosophy
  • ‘Relationships to build on’ is implemented throughout our HSE program
  • Educational & consultative approach to HSE implementation
  • Collaborative work environment with our subcontractors to share in the success of our HSE program

We work hard to ensure that all of our employees and sub-trades on our sites are as safe as possible and emphasize the importance of safety in the workplace through proactive supervision and management. We embody safe construction practices to reflect our effectiveness as a contractor and as a good corporate citizen, as well as a genuine concern for the well-being of everyone on our projects.

We have spent considerable time and effort to implement a comprehensive Health Safety & Environment (HSE) program, obtain CoR (Certificate of Recognition) certification with the BCCSA (BC Construction Safety Alliance) to exceed WorkSafeBC’s requirements, and improve safety on our job sites. We also audit our HSE program on an annual basis to maintain our CoR certifications and continually improve our HSE program.

To ensure successful implementation of our safety program, we employ a full-time Health Safety & Environment Manager to oversee Ventana’s HSE Program, along with full-time site-level HSE Coordinators to coordinate safety at each of our job sites who work alongside our safety-conscious Project Superintendents and supervisors to oversee safe construction operations. Our on-site team ensures all safety requirements and protocols are in place prior to starting work on a project and continue through the execution of the project.

Ventana is dedicated to providing a safe and healthy environment for every employee, worker and visitor on site, and in order to deliver this, we continually review and update our HSE program. We require that every contractor working on our project has a WCB account in good standing for the duration of each contract.
