STATEMENT OF WORK
Pre-construction, sustainable strategic planning and construction
Renfrew Centre is a Class A seven storey, concrete structure totalling 173,560 square feet. This LEED® Gold® office building has larger floor plates of 23,000 to 25,000 square feet to accommodate tenants with contiguous floor requirements. A feature of this project is the innovative use of building form for shading the building, which was inspired by a “drape” blowing in the wind.
Portions of the LEED® design relate to high floor area to window ratio providing energy efficiency and natural daylight, locally sourced green roofing materials, a high-performance building envelope, and energy efficient HVAC equipment and plumbing. The HVAC system has variable refrigerant flow that provides constant ventilation and heat recovery, in addition to increased temperature control for improved thermal comfort while reducing operation costs by minimizing energy use. The HVAC system provides the owner with an inexpensive off-hour office cooling system.
