This 165,000-square-foot, three-storey LEED® Gold® head office features a 15,000-square-foot, three-storey glass and mass timber atrium with high capacity lobbies connected by intersecting walkways interspersed with break-out spaces that provide an informal atmosphere. The building has a sustainable material palette that includes Forest Stewardship Council certified products.
The building’s layout and spaces are centred around the concept of providing an environment and services that promote a positive work-life balance. The head office has a data centre, childcare centre and cafeteria. Additional employee services include a lounge and a 24-hour fitness facility offering regular fitness and nutrition programs, gym equipment, a bike room, showers and changing facilities.
The pile supported building consisted of four distinct “pods” separated by the glass and mass timber atrium. This introduced numerous fire rating requirements and alternative solutions to meet code. The client had specific electric and communication requirements for international online auctions conducted out of the office. The project had an accelerated phased provisional occupancy schedule to allow for an early move in.
In addition to construction of the base building, Ventana completed an extensive tenant improvement project consisting of open office spaces, management offices, boardrooms, training rooms, access control security and a data centre.
This head office is one of nine projects Ventana completed in the Glenlyon Business Park.
