STATEMENT OF WORK
Pre-construction, value engineering, sustainable strategic planning and construction
3030 Gordon is a 35,000-square-foot, four-storey, woodframe support housing development with 30 studio units, 30 shelter sleeping rooms, 30 extreme weather beds, a commercial kitchen with full service dining room, amenity rooms and administration offices. The housing project was funded by BC Housing and is on City of Coquitlam land. It was developed in conjunction with CitySpaces Consulting Ltd.
The residence is USGBC LEED® Gold® certified.
RainCity Housing was a fast-paced project with an aggressive schedule. The project was completed in just over twelve months and included a piled foundation, a concrete podium for level one, and three and a half storeys of wood-framed structure. There are 30 transitional housing units, 30 shelter rooms, and 30 extreme weather beds. At the time, the facility was the first shelter east of Burnaby in the Metro Vancouver area and there was significant political pressure to deliver on the planned end date.
