STATEMENT OF WORK

Pre-construction, value engineering, sustainable strategic planning and construction

Abby Lane is a two-phase senior aging-in-place facility with 183 suites. The 244,000-square-foot concrete building has an amenity floor, medical clinic and pharmacy, commercial kitchen, varied care levels on each floor, market sale senior’s condos, and a parkade. The residence has an aquatic centre with a swimming pool, fitness facilities, reflexology, change facilities, and spa. Abby Lane was built with green building design and construction elements.

Phase 1 involved the addition of new clinic space to an operational medical clinic. Ventana created a sequence plan to maintain access to the existing medical clinic with minimal disruption. A fast-track design approach was undertaken in phase 2 to allow for suite layout changes to meet demand generated by phase 1, and in connecting phase 1 and phase 2 areas above the main driveway at levels three through eight. The project had design team and client ownership structure changes in addition to permit delays. The Residences of Abby Lane is shadow LEED®.
